What is Personhood?

Personhood is a movement working to respect the God-given right to life by recognizing all human beings as persons who are “created in the image of God” from the beginning of their biological development all the way to their natural death, without exceptions.

When the term “person” is applied to a particular class of human beings, it is an affirmation of their individual rights. In other words, to be a person is to be protected by a series of God-given rights and constitutional guarantees such as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

What is Personhood Kansas?

Personhood Kansas exists to guarantee protection for every living human being in Kansas, from their earliest biological beginning, by amending the Kansas Constitution to recognize their God-given humanity without exception.

Personhood Kansas desires to glorify Jesus Christ in a way that creates a culture of life so that all innocent human lives are protected by love and by law. We serve all Kansans irregardless of age to initiate citizen, legislative, and political action focusing on the ultimate goal of the pro-life movement: personhood rights for all innocent humans.

We intend to build the support in our state in an effort to reaffirm personhood within the Kansas Constitution. Personhood Kansas is a 501(c)(4) Christian ministry that welcomes those who believe in the God-given right to life.

What is the Life Amendment?

The Life Amendment is a resolution that clarifies our Kansas constitution. It simply states that among the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, there is not a natural right to abortion. There can never be a right to end the life of another. The “meat” of the amendment comes from the excerpt below, however, feel free to click on the graphic and read the entire document for yourself.

Ҥ 1. Equal rights. All men are possessed of equal and inalienable
natural rights, among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Nothing in this section or any other provision of this constitution protects or
secures a natural right to abortion.”
